world cup - here we come!
The socceroos won! Beat Uruguay on penalties. Germany 2006 world cup, with australia competing for the first time in 32 years.
Oh such an exciting day. I want to be back in sydney out partying on the streets with everyone else. The city must be going mad. Even being in London with a stack of other Aussies would be better. Here there are so few australians, I seem to be the only person who has any idea what happened this morning.
I couldn't watch it, none of the channels here seemed to show the match, but i got live web updates from the FFA website, very frustrating having to wait for those updates, especially when it got down to penalties. Schwazer is brilliant, Kewell fantasic and Aloisi sublime. What a day.
the best thing though is that i will still be in england come june 2006, so i can get to germany really easily to watch the matches. Have to start saving now for tickets. Hopefully there will be some available still. I'm so happy.
Got to try and setttle down a little for my lecture. Wearing all the green and gold I can (without looking like a complete idiot). How fantastic are the socceroos. Uruguay having a divine right to play the world cup indeed, if that was the case they would have made automatic qualification, rather than having to go to play offs. i think i love guus hiddinck, lets see if he can get australia as far as he got south korea. Germany here we come!
