News and events from my year studying overseas.

Location: Australia

I grew up in rural Australia, but have spent the last 6 years living in cities. I am now studying for a masters in Museum Studies. I will spend the next year in England and hopefully have time to travel throughout Europe as well.

Australia Day

My first australia day away from home. I managed a small recreation of Australian things. I wore my RM's, and invited some friends around for grilled sausages and salad, served with an Australian Red wine and Fountain Spicy Red Sauce (thanks for that mum). I finished off with some Tim Tams, so not a bad australian type meal. It would have been better if it was a little warmer outside, but I was happy to have a sunny morning. I contemplated wearing my thongs (flip flops), just as a better way of acknowledging the day, but decided against it when i heard that the maximum was going to be 3.

I also decorated my window.

I think that alongside the australian flag that hangs in the other window should ensure that all those who use the carpark that i look out on know my nationality.

I hope all those back home had a nice day, and enjoyed it with warm weather, good food and family and friends. I'm trying to remember what hot weather is like.
